One Piece - Two Looks
Monday, October 11, 2010 For today's post, I've teamed up with fellow upcycler, Jelena from Poppyseed Living. We've each shared our unique design vision for this piece of vintage furniture in order to inspire you to look at old furniture in a new way.
Well, great minds think alike. Jelena and I both envisioned the exterior of this piece painted in grey. But, this post proves that even with one major element in common, the end result is two completely different, yet equally beautiful looks.
The piece in question is a 60's stereo console. The existing stereo equipment is incomplete, so we both opted to remove it all together and give this piece a new purpose.
Here are the before shots:

Here are our ideas for the redesign:

Jelena's Concept Board:

Midwest Modern Optic Blossom Linen Fabric - Amy Butler, Trellis Fabric - Galbraith & Paul, Timeless Ticking Fabric - Waverly
Lia's Concept Board:

Full Cloverleaf Perforated Metal Sheeting - McNichols, Wrapping Paper - Loop, Lucky Number Knob (Red) - Anthropologie
Thanks Jelena for sharing your fabulous ideas with Mod Nest! Be sure to stop by Jelena's Etsy Shop and blog!
